Welcome back to our Meet the Dancer series!  Have you ever wondered how different talents and personalities come together to create our shows?  Our dancers have origins all over the world and contribute eight different styles to help us tell our story.  This week, we introduce Jolijn!

Jolijn is back for her third performance with Project Blank and we are thrilled!  Besides being our resident belly dancer (how cool is that?) she is the team’s unofficial problem solver.  She is everywhere and nowhere at the same time, making sure that all of the gaps are filled, time is used wisely, and everyone is on track!  Jolijn’s mesmerizing movement, creative mind, and unwavering team spirit make her absolutely indispensable.  We asked her some questions and here is what she had to say:

Name: Jolijn Calle
Primary style(s): Belly dance and contemporary
Day job: Acount and Fieldmanager at an IT company
Earliest dance memory: Being a Police officer for the show of the ballet school. The jacket came down over my knees because it was so big and I had a whistle so I could make a lot of noise!
Fun fact: I’m also a street performer.  I work with soap bubbles, fire, and I am a living statue. Currently working on my poi and contact staff skills!
A note about “The Shape I’m In”: It will be way different from last year’s show and maybe even more diverse than I have experience so far.
